In the first year, TEI's Founders & Board will provide the initial concept for research. Participating interns may submit concepts in any field for the following program year. All submissions will be reviewed by the Board. Intern founders and the intern teams will receive a percentage ownership, determined by the Board, when the business established.
The concepts selected by the Board are chosen based on mission alignment, commercial viability, resource requirements and availability and feasibility of completion within the allotted time.
The Institute will continue to broaden its alliances with universities, corporations, small & medium enterprises, non-profit organizations, and government agencies - seeking broader collaborative participation nationally and internationally.
TEI will create mixed teams from diverse cultures and environments to better explore and understand the impacts within the global value chain.
Each year, TEI will expand a research unit and reach a new geography, continuously expanding participation opportunities for interns globally.
